  • Download the software on your computer, phone or tablet device: Cricut Design Space https://cricut.com/en-us/apps
    You will need to create an account (for free) and to connect via bluetooth.
  • Make sure there is enough free space at the rear of the machine.

Additional Tools[edit | edit source]

The Cricut Explorer 3 comes with many optional tools.
Sequoia Fabrica has fine-point, deep-point and bonded fabric blades with corresponding housings, and different 12"x24" (30.5 cm x 61 cm) reusable machine mats.

Fine-point grey [default] to cut most light to medium-weight materials, including cardstock, vinyl, iron-on and poster board.
Deep-point black to slice through thicker, dense materials up to 1.5 mm thick (chipboard, leather or thin metals)
Bonded-fabric pink to cut bonded fabric or fabric with an iron-on backer

Type Color Usage
LightGrip blue for standard paper, light cardstock, and vellum.
StrongGrip purple for specialty cardstock, matboard, and backed fabric.
FabricGrip pink to cut most fabrics with the Bonded-Fabric blade.
