The first Spoonmaking & Engraving class ran June 6th, 2024. The class is a mix of Laser and Woodworking. The preparation of the class relies on first creating templates using the laser to cut out the basic spoon shape, then shaping the spoon with a dremel tool. Tungsten Carbide rotary bits are good for this part. Then again, the spoon is brought back to the laser and engraved along the handle. Finally, the spoon is finished using a wax finish made of mineral oil, carnauba, and beeswax.
