Workshop Norms

We're glad you're here! Let's work together to keep Sequoia Fabrica a safe, thoughtful, and collaborative place for all of our members and visitors.

  • Treat others with respect. All members and visitors must follow our Code of Conduct. We have zero tolerance for harassment or behavior that makes others feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
  • Take care of our space and equipment. Clean up after yourself so our shared resource is available for others. Follow all safety and training guidelines and report any damages or incidents. We’re not here to blame and shame, our priority is a workshop that’s clean, safe, and in working order!
  • Reasonable use. Our workshop is a shared facility for teaching, learning, art-making, skill-building and training, prototyping, and hobby projects. At this time we’re not equipped for heavy business use or full-scale production runs.
  • Questions and experimentation are encouraged. Recurse Center’s social rules apply: avoid feigning surprise, well-actuallying people, backseat driving, or subtle -isms.
  • Sequoia Fabrica is your workshop, not your home, office, or bar. Cooking, sleeping, grooming, and bathing at our workshop jeopardizes our ability to exist. If you have needs a workshop cannot meet, we encourage you to seek resources. There are other spaces for partying with friends or using as your primary place of business.
  • Have fun and make things! While this is an educational space, we encourage ambitious (even ridiculous) projects and collaborations as long as they are in line with our community standards. We look forward to seeing what you create.
